The Daracha Tree podcast

The idea for this podcast came during the pandemic. I recalled all the brilliant independent artists that I had met and interviewed during my brief spell as a music journalist. I wanted to reconnect with the musicians, managers, journalists, record shop owners and record company personnel that I had met to find out about their personal journey into music.

Why The Daracha Tree? Well, daracha is the Cypriot word for carob. The land around my late Cypriot grandmother’s house
was filled with daracha trees which she harvested every autumn. They provided much needed respite from the blistering
summer sun and formed the backdrop to almost every family portrait.
